Success story – Born on 2 December 1981 in Charenton-le-Pont, Josef Schovanec is a French philosopher, writer and traveller. Diagnosed with autism at the age of 22, he is a passionate advocate for the inclusion of autistic people. Aged 43, he works at the Catholic University of Louvain, in Belgium, where he serves as a pedagogical support advisor. On the occasion of Autism Awareness Day, he was in Mauritius where he led several conferences. We had the opportunity to meet him

Centenarian – Mauritius honoured its newest centenarian, Pierre Joseph Guy Gnany, on the occasion of his 100th birthday celebrated on 29 June 2025 at his residence in Curepipe.
