Miss India-France 2025 – Her name is Riya Ramjattun, she is Mauritian, and she was recently crowned Miss India-France 2025. A victory marked by immense emotion, but also great pride for her country of origin, Mauritius, which she represented with grace, intelligence, and commitment. This title, beyond the crown, embodies the success of a determined young woman, connected to her roots, open to the world, and resolved to make her voice heard for causes close to her heart.
“When my name was announced as Miss India-France, I felt an immense emotion. It was a magical, almost unreal moment, because even though I didn't expect it, I knew deep down that I had worked hard to get here,” she confides sincerely.
This moment of consecration crowns not only a personal journey, but also a dignified and luminous representation of Mauritius on an international stage. By winning a prestigious competition that celebrates beauty, culture, eloquence, and personality, Riya Ramjattun proudly carries the colors of her native island, while affirming her Indian origins and her multifaceted identity.
A title, a responsibility
For Riya, becoming Miss India-France is not just about wearing a sash and a crown. It is above all a mission, a deep commitment to social causes. She sees this title as a platform to express herself, inspire, and take action. “This title represents for me a great responsibility, but also an opportunity to give a voice to important causes, especially that of elderly people,” she explains. A cause often neglected, but essential in her eyes. “They deserve our respect, our attention, and our support. This title allows me to carry their concerns and to promote values such as dignity, solidarity, and the inclusion of generations in our society.”
By elevating this issue at the heart of her message, Riya shows remarkable maturity and social awareness, demonstrating that beauty is also a matter of heart and commitment.
Proudly Mauritian, culturally rich
If Riya Ramjattun won over the French public, it is also thanks to the authenticity of her journey. Originally from Mauritius, she has always been fascinated by beauty contests — not as a mere showcase of appearance, but as spaces for promoting culture, self-confidence, and female intelligence.
Participating in Miss India-France was for her a double challenge: to compete with high-level candidates while asserting her unique identity. “It was for me a way to proudly represent my Indian roots while affirming my Mauritian identity,” she says. “I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, to challenge myself, and to carry a message of unity between cultures.”
This was not her first attempt: Riya also participated in Miss Mauritius, a competition where she was not crowned winner. But far from seeing this experience as a failure, she transformed it into a source of motivation. “It is not a crown that defines our value. Every journey has its detours, and sometimes, it is the most difficult steps that prepare us for our most beautiful victories.”
A message of hope for youth
Through her journey, Riya now wishes to inspire other young women, particularly those from modest or multicultural backgrounds. “Through my title, I want to share a message of self-confidence, cultural pride, and perseverance,” she affirms.
She wants to encourage young people to fully embrace their identity, to not be afraid to dream big, and above all, to believe in themselves despite obstacles. “No matter where we come from, or the challenges we face, we can achieve our dreams if we remain true to our values.”
This message resonates deeply in the hearts of Mauritians, proud to see one of their own shine internationally. By honoring diversity, cultural respect, and openness, Riya Ramjattun becomes a symbol of unity and female ambition.
Concrete and lasting commitments
Beyond words, Riya Ramjattun takes action. She is the patron of the association Le Colibri Indien, based in India, which works for the education of underprivileged children. A commitment she leads wholeheartedly, aware of the importance of access to education to break cycles of poverty.
But her commitment doesn’t stop there. True to her intergenerational values, she wishes to support elderly people, often isolated or forgotten in our modern societies. “They are an invaluable treasure, full of experience, wisdom, and memories. I want to build bridges between generations, spaces for exchange, sharing, and transmission.”
She is already planning concrete actions: visits to retirement homes, memory workshops, collaborative projects between youth and elders. For her, it is about recreating human connection, respect, and listening in a world that sometimes moves too fast.
A crown turned toward the future
In the long term, Riya Ramjattun does not plan to stop at this one title. She dreams of developing large-scale solidarity projects, uniting cultures and generations, allowing everyone — regardless of origin — to feel valued. She sees her title as a starting point, not a conclusion. “I want to make this crown a symbol of action, hope, and kindness. It’s my way of giving back what life has given me.”
Riya Ramjattun’s journey brings great pride to Mauritius. She represents a Mauritian youth open to the world, aware of social issues, and driven by a desire to do good around her. By becoming Miss India-France, she has not only won over an audience — she has also paid tribute to her roots, her culture, and her country.
With her determination, eloquence, and commitment, she shows that Mauritian beauty goes far beyond appearances: it is found in the heart, in values, and in action.
