Bhavish Soodoo officially begins his career as a jockey

ree

South Africa  Young Mauritian rider Bhavish Soodoo has just reached a major milestone in his budding career: he has officially signed his jockey papers in South Africa, allowing him to now compete in official races as an apprentice jockey. He is currently based at the Port Elizabeth training campus, where he continues to hone his skills as he moves closer to his dream of making it in the professional horse racing world.

Before flying to South Africa, Bhavish Soodoo had already made a name for himself on the Mauritian turf. He notably secured his first win aboard Spotted Pearl. But it was his surprise victory with Techno Savvy—a less fancied runner—that truly turned heads.

These early performances in Mauritius helped him gain valuable experience and caught the attention of racing insiders. His transition to the South African racing scene marks the next step in a journey that began on local tracks, with the clear goal of progressing in a more competitive environment.

We wish him the very best in this exciting new chapter.
